What vitamin B12 actually is
Vitamin B12, also called cobalamin, is a water-soluble vitamin. MedlinePlus’s vitamin B12 page explains that it helps with protein metabolism, the formation of red blood cells, and maintenance of the nervous system. The body can store B12 in the liver for a long time, which is why a short gap in intake does not always show up right away.
Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health’s Nutrition Source briefing on vitamin B12 adds a useful caution in everyday language. B12 is found naturally in animal foods. People who eat little or no animal food often need fortified foods or a supplement. Extra B12 is not an automatic energy lift if you are not actually low. If someone has a true deficiency, that workup belongs with their own clinician, not with a wellness menu.
Food first, then a conversation
- Meat, fish, eggs, and dairy are the usual food sources. Some cereals and nutritional yeasts are fortified.
- The NHS B vitamins overview notes that most people who eat those foods get enough B12 from diet alone.
- Plant foods do not naturally contain B12 unless they are fortified, which is why vegan clients often ask about this shot.
- Medications, stomach or intestinal surgery, and some digestive conditions can change how B12 is absorbed. That is a conversation with your own provider, not a guess on a booking form.
- A wellness injection is not a lab test. If you think you may be deficient, ask your own clinician to check before you chase the internet version of the problem.
We do not diagnose B12 deficiency, anemia, or nerve conditions. A wellness shot does not treat, cure, or prevent those. If you are pregnant, or you have heart, kidney, or blood-pressure conditions, talk with your own clinician before you book and put those details on your intake.
How a mobile B12 visit works
You book from where you are. The nurse comes to your home, office, or hotel across Greater Houston, including Katy, Sugar Land, Pearland, and inside the Loop. She reviews your intake, checks the site, and gives the injection. It is a short visit compared with a drip. Many clients add B12 onto a hydration visit. On its own, a Vitamin B12 Injection is $45. Concierge travel in the core service area is included when it is part of a booked visit.
This is a wellness injection administered by a registered nurse, not a prescription course for a diagnosed deficiency. If your own clinician has you on a medical B12 plan, keep that plan. We sit beside it, not instead of it.
B12 can be booked on its own or added to a drip. RN-led, physician-directed, fully insured.
